Be Still My Soul

Is there ever a time in your life when all seems to go wrong? I know that’s true in my life. It’s so reassuring in those hard times, that God knows what’s going on, and He’s right there to help us.

One of my favorite songs is Be Still My Soul. The words are so powerful and helpful in hard times.

🎵Be still, my soul: The Lord is on thy side; with patience bear thy cross of grief or pain. Leave to thy God to order and provide; in every change He faithful will remain. Be still, my soul: Thy best, thy heavenly Friend thru thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul: Thy God doth undertake to guide the future as he has the past. Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake; all now mysterious shall be bright at last. Be still, my soul: The waves and winds still know His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below.

Be still, my soul: The hour is hastening on when we shall be forever with the Lord, when disappointment, grief, and fear are gone, sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored. Be still, my soul: When change and tears are past, all safe and blessed we shall meet at last.🎵~~Jean Sibelius~~

I hope all of you have a great rest of your week!❤️

  2. That’s right, the Lord always knows what is going on in our lives and He is always willing to help and give us the strength we need for every trouble that comes our way. We just need to trust Him for everything, He will hold our hand and guide us through every time. Beautiful song too. Thanks for sharing it.

      2. At 17, I had so many things I wanted to write and share—but no internet, no WordPress! So now, I guess I’m a bit of a late bloomer here! Lol!

You, on the other hand at 17, are so blessed to have such an amazing opportunity to reach out with your writing! I pray the Lord guides and inspires you always. 🙏🏻

      3. Yes, I am very blessed! A few months ago, I would’ve never dreamed I would have a blog and be able to write and share my faith. It has been an incredible few months!
I really have no idea how old you are, but if when you were 17 you didn’t have internet….? Maybe in your 50s?

      4. Yep. I am ‘dating myself’ here when I talk about “back in the day before internet…”.
My first computer class was in 1983. Very different from today. Quite incredible to watch how much it’s grown.
I’m turning 48 next month. In many ways, I feel my life is just beginning 🙂

      5. Oh, wow! I never guessed I would be learning more history on a Saturday! 😉
Happy early birthday! I’m so sorry I guessed wrong. 😦

      6. Haha! Thank you and no apologies! A good guess actually. I’m still learning just how little I really know. Saturday mornings are great days to learn new things! 😉
And yes, over time—learning to ‘be still’. This is the most precious lesson of all!
