Moonlight Delight

What would a night be like without the wonderful moonlight? Dark. Deary. God is faithful in bringing out the moon each night. Too often, we take our moon and its beautiful moonlight for granted.

A quick pic of the moon I took last night.

I really wanted a poem about moonlight to share on this post and I was wondering where I could find a great poem. I ended up asking a great blogger if they would write one for me. Sure enough – that person did! A HUGE thanks to Steve for writing this wonderful poem about moonlight! πŸ™‚

MOONLIGHT DELIGHT

Moonlight truly shines so bright,

Wondrous scene, such a delight.

Under this moon all does shine,

E’en the flowers glow so fine.

Moonlight fills the meadow fast,

In the forest, shadows cast.

Moonlight sits atop the hill,

Spreading light while all is still.

Shining now upon the lake,

Wondrous sight for all awake.

Pearly white from yonder moon,

Mixed with call of distant loon.

That full moon, with beams so bright,

Gives to all a wondrous sight.

Light, so pure, from that large moon,

Sinking low, and gone so soon.

  3. Wow!! That’s so beautiful, and that poem is just marvelous!! Steve is such a good poet!
Actually I’ve been thinking about the moon, too, recently! Yesterday (Mon.), we saw the moon and the sun together in the late afternoon! It was an awesome sight to behold! It’s amazing to think that people from Adam and Eve to this present day have seen the same moon for thousands of years! Praise the Lord!

  12. Beautiful. I love the way the moon changes, as the constellations do, as well. God gives us such amazing variety in the universe to enjoy. Of course, technically, the moon doesn’t give its own light but reflects light. The source of light is the sun, which we often can’t see when we CAN see the moon. I see the moon as being like the Church. When the world can’t see God, we are here to reflect His glory and His love.
