  5. Candida will love you. I’m assuming you’re off of that strict diet of yours? Just from the description alone it sounds delicious 😋

    1. No ma’am. I’m on a more strict diet now. Sugar free, gluten free, dairy free, grain free, salt free, etc… All I can eat is: one fruit a day, most vegetables, and a few meats.

      It is really good though!

      1. Didn’t you eat some of it? With a diet like yours you must be super healthy! 🧘‍♀️🌱

      2. Actually, that pic of it is from my 17th birthday a whole year ago. I’ve had a yearly tradition of having that desert for my birthday the past 10 years, but this year will be the first that I can’t have it.
A few months ago, I couldn’t really admit that I was healthy, but now I can easily say that with no guilty conscience. I’ve lost 32 lbs and I have consistent daily exercise plan and my diet is full of nutritious, healthy foods. It was hard getting adjusted to this life, but now, it has been so worth while in my life!

      3. That’s amazing, Lydia! Such a transformational story ♥️ It would be amazing if you wrote a blog post about your journey if you haven’t previously done so. 32lbs! WOW! I never thought that you were overweight in the slightest. I know that we can be a healthy weight and still be unhealthy internally…. I carry around excess weight even though I fall into the “healthy” BMI range. I would love to lose the excess weight that doesn’t want to budge. My diet isn’t clean right now and I miss clean eating. I miss feeling healthy. 🧘‍♀️🌱

I do believe that certain foods like gluten, dairy, and sugar are inflammatory-causing. It makes a lot of sense as to why you chose to cut these things out. Tbh It must be hard to follow a strict diet like that (especially when there are temptations) and I have a lot of respect for what you’ve accomplished with this diet shift. I hope to learn more about your diet and the kinds of foods you eat 🙌

      4. Thanks, Hilary for your kind words. I have considered writing a post on my journey. It’s been pretty adventurous indeed!
Honestly, most of that weight was hidden and you couldn’t tell I weighed that much, but it has been great do get down where I am now.
Yes. That’s what’s caused those foods to be cut out. It is very hard and I am tempted everyday, but right now, it’s very serious that I stay with this diet so I don’t have worse problems than what I have now.

      5. Meanwhile I’m over here eating a bagel with cream cheese 🥯🤫 I know I shouldn’t but they’re so tasty! And I save a lot buying them from Costco and toasting them at home than I do buying them at Tim Hortons. You may have heard of this place – it’s one of Steve’s favorite coffee shops. ☕️☺️

I would love to lose the weight as my body is quite inflamed. I’m what you would call “skinny fat.” I’ve got an intolerance to certain foods and was tested when I was little. I’m intolerant to wheat, dairy, and sugar, and yet these are the foods I crave most. I’m so curious to know what you eat because idk where to start. There’s so much info out there and the previous diets I tired I just couldn’t stick to long term. I went sugar free and paleo for 3 months last year and I felt SO MUCH better. But then Christmas happened and everything went out the window.

      6. Hehe I know, right? That’s what we serve the kiddos are my work on Mondays for snack.

It was 2 days before this past Christmas when I received that dreaded health news that would forever change my diet. I was kind of depressed and greatly discouraged. I wasn’t able to have any treats or yummy foods for Christmas.

I am on the Paleo diet, but I recently learned there are different types of the Paleo diet. I am on a very strict one.
How I started??? TBH, I didn’t eat at all those first 2 days and didn’t until I pretty much passed out and decided to eat a carrot. Overtime, I found some recipes and foods I liked so I could actually eat 3 times a day. My choices are very limited, but for breakfast, I make smoothie using a cup of fruit which is all I the fruit I can have in a day. Lunch – I like the unsalted black beans in a can. I smash them up and they last me through work. Dinner – I cook a meat like chicken, turkey, beef, or seafood and then I have a vegetable. I pretty much always go to bed hungry because I don’t eat pasta, rice, etc…. the stuff that fills you up.
For snacks, I just recently found some chips, popcorn, nuts, etc…. that I can eat with this diet. It’s been a good thing for me. I can share those with you over email if you would like.

      7. Thank you for sharing this info with me, Lydia! ♥️ I have a raw energy green soup you might like. It’s very tasty and healthy. You can find it under “recipes” on my blog. I often eat this whenever I feel really yucky and need to reset my body. You can literally eat this stuff for lunch everyday if you wanted to and it’s quite filling. You can also take it to work in a thermos and store it in the fridge. Highly recommend trying this recipe at least once. 🧘‍♀️🌱

You painted a very good picture of the kinds of foods you eat. You’re free to email me if you want to but there’s no hurry. I know you are busy. As for paleo treats, sometimes I make chocolate-peanut butter “fat bombs” which are very filling and will tide you over between meals. Idk if you are allowed to eat coconut oil but it’s one of the ingredients.

      8. No problem, Hilary. ❤ I'll check it out right now! Thanks.
Neat. Yes, I can have coconut oil.

      9. Thank you so much for checking out the raw green energy soup recipe! 🙏🏻💕

As for “fat bombs,” if you google it you’ll find a bunch of recipes online. Some ppl call it paleo fudge. I don’t have a specific recipe; I use equal parts peanut butter and coconut oil, add a few drops of vanilla and some cocoa powder. Maple syrup or honey is optional, depending on how much sweetness you can have! ♥️
